Ensuring dust and explosion safety during underground coal mining is one of the most important tasks industrial labor protection departments. The main method preventing explosions settled in mine workings to process them with stone (rock dusting). traditional methods quality control rock dusting include radioisotope, optical chemical methods. To implement them, devices are equipped environmentally harmful radioactive elements, expensive sensors, desiccants replaceable flasks reagents, which increases cost analysis its duration. measurement error these 10 % or more. purpose study develop substantiate a new for monitoring workings, will be devoid disadvantages mentioned above. It proposed evaluate rock-dust distribution by fundamentally way – thermogravimetric. was tested on mines Kuzbass Vorkuta basin, including samples taken actual explosions. article presents results experimental studies processes thermal destruction mixtures. non-overlapping intervals thermogravimetric reaction identified: moisture yield (35-132 °С); volatile matter from (380-580 degradation limestone carbon dioxide (650-850 °С).
